The iconic Horizon cruise terminal is the first of a new generation of new buildings of its kind.
REIDsteel provided conceptual design, structural design/detailing, fabrication and erection services for the landmark project with products supplied by British Steel.
An extensive value engineering exercise during the tender stage meant peak foundation reactions could be reduced by a factor of 10, saving both time and significant amounts of money for the client.
Extending over 11,000 sq ft, Horizon – the UK’s first cruise terminal with plug-in shoreside power – can handle an impressive 6,000 passengers per day!
