Company Overview

We design, manufacture and construct high quality steel structures including industrial buildings, aircraft hangars and their electro-mechanical doors, warehouses, grandstands, multi-storey buildings, car parks, bridges and defence equipment. Additionally, cladding and envelope systems, roller shutter doors, glazing and curtain walling are all brought into the package.

 

We work on projects around the UK and across the world, having exported to over 140 countries in the Company’s history of over 100 years.

Company Overview REIDglazing design, manufacture and install architectural glazing including windows, doors, curtain walling, louvres and solar shading (brise soleil). With more than 30 years’ experience in the UK and worldwide as the inhouse glazing division of REIDsteel, working as part of an integrated project or on a stand-alone basis directly for main contractors. Our integrated projects are structurally designed, fabricated and erected by our structural steel engineering sister company REIDsteel. They have been manufacturing and erecting large commercial buildings, aircraft hangars, grandstands, bridges, car parks and many other structures in the UK and worldwide for over 100 years. We operate from our site in Christchurch which incorporates our offices and manufacturing facility, close to motorway, road and rail links. We are a fantastic team of around 120 people. Role Overview As a result of team growth and a strategy to pursue more glazing-only projects, we have a vacancy for a Business Development Manager, working within our busy Glazing discipline. Your role will be pivotal in generating leads, fostering client relationships, and ensuring seamless service throughout the process. You will be responsible for growing our sales, and building and maintaining relationships with main contractors to be on their tender list for all upcoming projects. Experience within the glazing industry in a similar role is desirable Main Duties and Responsibilities Complying with all relevant Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies. Working in accordance with our Company Values. Taking an inclusive, collaborative and creative approach to winning business. Utilising prospecting tools, historical data, and marketing campaigns to generate leads. Cultivating long-term professional relationships with clients and decision makers. Identifying and building relationships with main contractors. Promoting and strengthening our brand. Nurturing leads and converting them into orders. Managing the sales funnel and working to achieve sales targets. Negotiate terms with clients, ensuring optimal margins and contract conditions. Staying informed about industry trends, market conditions, and gathering pricing feedback on submitted quotations. Possessing a good understanding of the contractual process and project risk. Having a detailed market awareness of customers, competitors and suppliers. Key Skills Previous business development experience in glazing sector is desirable. Technical ability to understand architectural drawings. Background in sales with expertise in lead generation, relationship building, and phone-based account management. Persistence and resilience in navigating the sales process. Commercially savvy. Excellent communicator. Excellent negotiation skills. Collaborative team player. Role Overview To support the Company’s ongoing growth strategy, we have a vacancy for Business Development Manager, working within our busy Sales team. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will seek opportunities to tender, work closely with our bid managers to create a competitive bid to meet the clients’ requirements and to ultimately win the contract. Being proactive in building and maintaining strong relationships is key to this role. International travel is required to attend trade fairs and meet customers. Experience within the steel and/or cladding industry in a similar role is desirable although associated markets would be considered. Experience of working in a structured and targeted way to recognise opportunities and pursue new markets, new customers and new relationships if desirable. Main Duties and Responsibilities Complying with all relevant Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies. Working in accordance with our Company Values. Taking an inclusive, collaborative and creative approach to winning business. Researching and understanding opportunities in your allocated market/s. With the Sales Director, defining a strategy for targeting your allocated market/s. Fulfilling that plan. Working with bid managers to ensure proposals fit with client expectations and achieve our corporate goals, objectives and targets. Excellent negotiation skills – to set out and sell what we have to offer and respond to the customers’ expectations. Role Overview This is a great opportunity for an established Structural Engineer to join our expanding Design team. You will ideally have 5 years’ post graduate experience and be a Chartered Member of the IStructE or working towards chartership. As Structural Engineer, you will be expected to assist bid management in the preparation of offers; the Drawing Office in the detailing of the building elements; site management in the safe methods of building; and the end clients with a view to meeting the provisions of our contract and encouraging them to come back to us. This is a demanding, hands-on structural engineering position. We are a well-established company and have a large export market, so the ability to use a variety of codes and design criteria is important. Main Duties and Responsibilities Complying with all relevant Company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies. Conceptual design – working in partnership with the sales team. Analysis design – using linear element or finite element software. Detail design – of all connections, bolts and welds. Preparing design calculations for draughtspeople and building control. Taking a leading role in preparing the CDM risk register for each building. Assisting with the preparation of safe erection methods. Attending meetings, both internal and client facing, as required. Optimising designs to produce structures that are safe, easy to draw, manufacture, ship and erect as well as being cost effective. Assisting with the preparation of operation and maintenance manuals for the client. Key Skills MIStructE or working towards chartership. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to meet specification, budget and programme as well as resolve any challenges that arise. CAD software. In depth knowledge of structural analysis concepts. Seismic design experience. Linear element or finite element analysis experience. Surveying experience. Role Overview To support the Company’s ongoing growth and drive to increase operational efficiencies, we are seeking a Material Handler to join our manufacturing facility. You’ll assist in pre-fabrication activities in our stockyard and material handling between our workshops, with the opportunity as you progress to learn to use our CNC machines and shotblaster. This will support the smooth running of our fabrication/welding process. A safety conscious, hardworking team player who is keen to learn would be the ideal candidate. We’ll invest in your training, including forklift truck, straddle carrier and overhead gantry crane operations. There may be future opportunities to train to use our steel processing equipment including our robotic plasma. Main Duties and Responsibilities Complying with all relevant Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies. Unloading steel sections from delivery vehicles. Movement of steel sections and fittings into our workshops, ensuring that the correct pieces are delivered as required. Safe use of forklift trucks, straddle carrier and overhead gantry cranes. Banksman duties. Ensuring that the workshop is kept clean and tidy. Support in other areas of production as required. Working in accordance with our Company Values. Key Skills Attention to detail – to ensure the correct pieces are supplied to workshops. Numerate – to identify steel sections, check lists and labels.
