Role Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced Steelwork Detailer to join our busy Drawing Office, based in Christchurch, Dorset. As a key member of the project team, you will be working on a wide range of projects with varying steel structures for both our UK and overseas markets. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar structural steel role and be able to effectively manage their workload; problem solve, work collaboratively, and meet deadlines. Main Duties and Responsibilities Complying with all relevant Company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies. 3D modelling and detailing of steel framed buildings, structures & associated items using Tekla 3D detailing software. Creating fabrication drawings, including editing, to enable accurate steelwork manufacture. Liaising with house designers, cladding draughtsperson, bid managers and construction team as well as participating in external design team meetings with architects, engineers and clients. Liaising with Works Manager, Production Manager and factory team regarding drawing issues and queries. Preparing lists for manufacturing, purchase and despatch. Assisting with site surveys when required. Issuing and monitoring Requests for Information (RFIs) and responding to site queries. Preparing drawing registers and issuing arrangement drawings and parts and fixing lists. Attending launch and project meetings. Advising project managers of any extras or variations as the project progresses. Key Skills Previous Tekla steelwork detailing experience in a similar industry. Some cladding experience would be useful but not essential. Attention to detail. Teamwork. Commercial Awareness. Organised and methodical. Excellent communication skills.
