Our expertise lies in the design, manufacture, and installation of a wide range of defensive products and structures; from HVM barriers to defensive barracks with mortar resistant roofs. They can be designed for CTM requirements as per the JSP440 Defence Manual of Security Document.


We are proud to be members of the Register of Qualified Steelwork Contractors (RQSC), having submitted to the BCSA’s capability and capacity audit. This reflects our excellent technical skills, extensive experience and our commitment to providing an excellent structure for our clients.



Military Hangars

Our expertise in bespoke hangar design began in the 1920’s when we built hangars for Louis Bleriot. Since then, we have continuously refined our approach and are able to design, fabricate, and install large clear span hangars, suitable for even the largest of planes such as the Voyager KC, Globemaster and the Airbus A380.

 

Over the years we have developed several patents related to hangar design that allow us to produce lighter, stiffer structures. By reducing the weight, we not only cut costs for the structural frame but also save on foundations and civil works as well as shipping costs. This also reduces the embodied carbon within the building, helping to minimise the environmental impact.


One of the most popular planes we have built Military Hangars for is the Hercules C-130. We have constructed these hangars around the world including in Chile and Nigeria.


In addition to meeting the usual hangar requirements, our military hangars can be equipped with underslung cranes for maintenance and anti-mortar roofing for protection.

Mortar Resistant Roofing & Rocket Screens

One of our specialisations is custom-built force protection against

a variety of threats, including bomb blast protection and explosion

mitigation solutions.


These mortar resistant roofs can be incorporated into the

design of any new structure, or we can build it over and around an

existing structure.

Military Buildings and Bunkers

We can build, supply, and erect a range of products including defensive barracks, HQ buildings, medical centres, observation posts and workshops.

These can be designed to include mortar resistant roofs and rocket screens.

We can also manufacture and supply bespoke defence bunkers, designed to suit your individual operational needs.


Our design is light, air-portable, easy to assemble, and entirely relocatable, making it perfectly suited for military applications. These bunkers are ideal for use as a Forward Operating Base, helping your units stay comfortable and safe.

We can also offer a variety of options for doors, windows, embrasures, vents, and more, all provided by our in-house glazing team.

Military & Commercial HVM Gates

We initially designed our Dragons Teeth HVM gates for military purposes, specifically to guard against vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs).


Thanks to their unique design, these barriers are perfect for protecting the perimeters of commercial operations with vulnerable boundaries, such as airports or energy and utility sites.


These systems require no foundations, making them ideal for temporary use at events. For example, we deployed over 50 of these at various sites throughout the UK during the 2012 Olympics.


We have since expanded our range to include the more permanent bollard gate solutions for the commercial market, which can be installed onto concrete foundations.

 

All our HVM gates and barriers, both temporary and permanent, have been tested to PAS68 N2/N3 standards and are listed in the National Protective Security Authority (NPCA) catalogue.
